Where to Stay Near the North Cascades National Park
The North Cascades National Park spans across the Cascade Mountain Range in Washington State. There is little lodging inside the park, so most visitors stay in nearby towns, including Concrete, Marblemount, Winthrop, and Twisp. This guide covers the best places to stay near North Cascades National Park for every budget.

Concrete
Concrete is a small town on the western side of North Cascades National Park. It’s known for mountain views and the bright blue Skagit River running through town. You’ll find a handful of restaurants, cabins, and vacation rentals here.
Luxury:
Secluded Forest Cabin
We love that this home is pet-friendly, has a hot tub, laundry, and a great outdoor space with a fire pit. It has two bedrooms and sleeps up to five.
Spacious A-Frame
Enjoy views of the Skagit River and Mount Baker from this classic A-Frame cabin. It has three bedrooms and sleeps up to six, and it’s pet-friendly.
Mid-range:
Cozy Farmhouse
Located in a quiet neighborhood, this farmhouse has a hot tub, laundry, with two bedrooms sleeping up to seven. However, everyone’s favorite part is seeing the Scottish Highland cows nearby!
Glamping Dome
This is glamping at its finest. Stay in a domed tent, surrounded by the forest. Just outside the tent is a toilet, outdoor kitchen, and hot tub.
Marblemount
Marblemount is the closest town to the west entrance of North Cascades National Park. It’s small, with limited restaurants and services, but is a convenient base for exploring the park’s western side.
Luxury:
North Cascades Getaway Riverside Cabin
Set along the Cascade River, this well-stocked cabin has two bedrooms, sleeps up to five, and is pet-friendly.
Mid-range:
Glacier Peak Resort
Cabins here sleep up to six and all have kitchenettes. There are only six cabins available, and they book up quickly during peak season.
Budget:
North Cascades Inn
Choose between downstairs rooms with private bathrooms or upstairs rooms with shared bathrooms. Rooms sleep between two and four guests.
Ross Lake
Ross Lake is in the heart of the North Cascades Wilderness, right next to the famous Diablo Lake. Getting here takes effort, but it’s well worth it.
Mid-range:
Ross Lake Resort
If you’re extremely lucky, you’ll get to stay at the Ross Lake Resort. Accommodations here are through a lottery system, and the resort is not accessible by car. Guests reach it by ferry, which only adds to the experience. Once there, it’s quiet and so remote, with cabins right on the water. Spend your days renting kayaks, motorboats, and fishing poles from the resort.
Winthrop
Winthrop is one of our favorite towns in Washington. It’s located on the eastern side of the North Cascades so you’ll find plenty of snow here in the winter, and lots of sunshine and hot temperatures in the summer.
Luxury:
Sun Mountain Lodge
Located a half hour outside of Winthrop, Sun Mountain Lodge has stunning views of the Methow Valley and the North Cascade mountains. In winter, you can cross-country ski right from the property. In warmer months, enjoy hiking, mountain biking, and horseback riding.
River’s Edge Resort
This resort is located right in town, and we love that every room is an individual cabin. Book a riverside cabin with a private hot tub for the best experience.
Alpine Woods Cabin
Located ten minutes outside of Winthrop and right along ski trails, you can ski in, ski out, of this cabin throughout winter. It’s a two-bedroom home that sleeps up to six.
Mid-range:
River Run Inn
The River Run Inn offers rooms and cabins that sleep between two and six guests, and come with kitchenettes and fireplaces. It’s located a half mile from downtown, but it’s across the street from our favorite restaurant – the Methow Valley Ciderhouse!
Freestone Inn and Cabins
Stay here for a peaceful stay 15 miles outside of town. Choose between rooms at the lodge or cabins, both of which sleep between two and six, although the cabins are also pet-friendly. As an added bonus, we love that you can ski in, ski out right from the property in the winter months.
Methow River Lodge and Cabins
This hotel is located a 15-minute walk from downtown. Rooms at the lodge sleep up to four, but the cabins sleep up to six.
Budget:
North Cascades Mountain Hostel
Choose from cabins, private rooms, or shared dorms. It’s clean, affordable, and a popular stop for Pacific Crest Trail thru-hikers.
Twisp
Located ten minutes south of Winthrop, Twisp is a quiet alternative, with a small-town feel and a handful of well-loved restaurants.
Luxury:
Casia Lodge and Ranch
Located about 10 minutes south of Twisp, this adults-only lodge focuses on relaxation and outdoor access. Amenities include complimentary snowshoes, a library, sunroom, arcade room, sauna, complimentary breakfast, and more.
Mid-range:
Twisp River Suites
Rooms here sleep between two and four guests and include kitchenettes, living areas, and deep soaking tubs. The property is within a block of most restaurants in downtown Twisp.
