Downtown Phong Nha

Stay in downtown Phong Nha if you want to be close to restaurants and amenities. Our favorite spot to eat was The Rice House

High end:

Đoàn Gia Resort

There is nothing not to love about this resort. It has a great pool, deck, mountain views, and if you book one of the bungalows, you’ll have both an indoor and outdoor bathroom.

Mid-range:

Thao Nguyen Homestay

Reviews rave over the cleanliness here, and we appreciate that they have a pool, complimentary breakfast, and laundry on site.

Budget style:

Thuong Hai Hotel

This centrally-located homestay is within walking distance of restaurants and shops. Rooms sleep between two and five.

Vu’s Homestay

Rooms are on the smaller side here, but they also have great outdoor spaces, including a pool and multiple seating areas.

The Palm

The Palm offers a small mixed dormitory and or individual rooms, both of which are very affordable.

Rural Phong Nha

Located just past downtown Phong Nha, this area is close enough that we walked and biked to town, but far enough away that we caught a Grab when we were feeling tired. We loved that the street was lined with riverside restaurants, offering spots to hammock or swim in warmer weather.

High end:

Victory Road Villas

Ideal for couples or groups, this property offers rooms with a king bed or a three-bedroom penthouse. Enjoy a pool, stunning bathrooms, and breathtaking views of Phong Nha’s mountains.

Mid-range:

A Little Leaf Homestay

Located at the end of the main road, this homestay is quieter and has stunning views of the Con River. Plus, you can paddleboard or swim right from your room.

Commander lodge

We stayed in the Commander Lodge at the start of our tour of Son Doong. We loved that they had complimentary bikes, a pool, and pool table.

Lucky Homestay

The Lucky Homestay has one of the best pools in Phong Nha! It’s only 3.5 km away from downtown Phong Nha, has dining on site, and spacious rooms.

Budget style:

Highway 20 Homestay

This homestay offers rooms for one and four guests. We love that there is a restaurant on site, as well as complimentary bikes.

An An Homestay Bungalow

The mixed dormitory style lodging here fits in budget category of lodging here, although they offer pricier rooms that sleep between two and four as well. The location is stunning, sitting just off the main road with views of rice fields and mountains.

Cù Lạc 1

This area offers an authentic Vietnamese neighborhood feel, with homestays nestled between local residences and a few restaurants along the river.

Mid-range:

Tutu’s Homestay

Tutu’s Homestay offers a modern vibe with a small pool, hammocks, and spacious rooms.

Budget stay:

Phong Nha Love Homestay

You’ll feel like you stepped into an oasis when you see this homestay’s pool and mountain views. They also have bikes to borrow and it’s easy ride to restaurants downtown.

Hugo Homestay

This homestay has everything you could want – a pool, complimentary breakfast, bicycles, and more. Plus, many reviews mentioned how great dinner with the host is – book it in advance for a great meal!

Cổ Giang and Cổ Giang 2

We rode bicycles through this area, and it’s far enough from downtown Phong Nha that we stopped seeing tourists. It’s quieter, more authentic, and offers views of rice fields, karst mountains, and the occasional water buffalo.

High end:

Karst Villas

Stay here for the best views in Phong Nha – rice fields with a backdrop of karst mountains. The architecture is French inspired, and you'll have the choice to reserve a room or an entire apartment.

Greenfield Homestay

We love that this homestay is surrounded by beautiful rice fields. It’s rural, quiet, but only a short walk to the river and Funky Beach – the perfect spot to grab a cold drink and relax.

Mid-range:

Palafita Bungalo

Stay here for the peaceful atmosphere. We particularly love the outdoor spaces here with a larger pool, deck, and stunning views of the karst mountains and rice fields.

Cù Lạc 2

This neighborhood is more rural than Cù Lạc 1, but still only 2.5 km to downtown.

Mid-range:

Rice Field Homestay

This homestay has a bit of everything. You’ll find great views, a restaurant on site, a shared kitchen, playground, and garden with outdoor seating areas.

Ngyen Shack Retreat

Every bungalow here has floor-to-ceiling windows showcasing great views of the lake. There is yoga onsite, a restaurant, and lots of friendly animals. Many of the guest reviews mention extending their stays here or wishing they could have stayed longer. You cannot get a better testimonial than that!

Đá Lòn

Đá Lòn is located 21 km from Phong Nha. Once there, plan on using the farm stay amenities to meet all your needs.

High end:

Chày Lập Farmstay

We stayed here at the end of our Son Doong tour, and it was so relaxing. You could easily spend a few days here biking through the countryside, kayaking, or visiting Paradise and Dark Caves.
